The Elysian Fields Student Council had an exciting school year. We attended the Dallas Maverick's Leadership in December, where we heard from some inspiring speakers on the topic of leadership and successful futures. Afterward, we got to watch the opening season game. All of our students went home with a new Mavs t-shirt, a ton of new options to consider for their future, and many fun memories.
This spring, members Andrew Wise, Lexi Deramee, Lexie Aaron, Matthew Beasley, and Katherine Harris joined me in traveling to Shreveport for the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission Orientation. We came back and shared the information we received with the school, and we started a drive, gathering needed desperately needed items for the shelter. We collected over a car full of items and delivered them to the mission in late May.
I am excited to see what the future holds for this awesome organization.
