Esteemed coaches from across the vast state of Texas have chosen to honor EFHS junior Cara Sims, the 2024 Class 2A Cross Country State Champion, for her remarkable work ethic and dedication! This marks Cara's first selection to the 2A Super Elite Team, following two previous honors in the 3A classification.

Cara's 2024 season included these outstanding results:

• Hoka McNeil, 3200 m: 11:33
• Union Grove, 3200 m: 11:43 (New Venue and Meet Record)
• C.E. Byrd, 3 mile: 17:39 (New Venue and Meet Record)
• District, 2 mile: 11:57
• 2A Region III, 2 mile: 11:23 (New Venue and Meet Record)
• State, 3200 m: 11:34.6
