Elysian Fields ISD offers official Cheer squads at Elysian Fields Middle School and at Elysian Fields High School. EFHS Varsity Cheer includes 12 cheerleaders, one (1) mascot, and one (1) manager, classified as freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors for their year of service. Middle School Cheer includes 10 cheerleaders – classified as seventh or eighth graders for their year of service.
Each squad has a coach to advise and direct the squad in all activities. The coach also serves as the connection between their squad and the school administration.
The year of service begins on the day of selection and ends at the conclusion of the following school year.
Our EFISD Cheer program plays a significant role in our schools by fostering school spirit, teamwork, and leadership among our students. Cheerleaders serve as ambassadors of school pride, encouraging student and community engagement at athletic events and boosting morale for both athletes and spectators.
Beyond just promoting school unity, cheer programs offer physical fitness benefits, as participants develop strength, flexibility, and coordination through rigorous training and routines. They also learn valuable life skills, such as discipline, time management, and perseverance, which can be applied beyond the sport.
In many ways, EFISD Cheer contributes to a positive school culture and enhances the overall extracurricular experience for our students.
