Mrs. Julie Simmons is a Certified Public Accountant and has her own accounting firm in Marshall. She and her husband, Ronnie, are both graduates of Marshall High School. Ronnie is the manager of a ranch located just outside of Marshall, and also co-owns Marshall Overhead Garage Doors with son-in-law, Heath Hayes.
When not at church, work, or chasing grandson BW to one of the tractors, Julie loves spending time with family, checking on all of their cows, and she is a HUGE baseball fan.
The Simmons made the commitment to move to EFISD in June 2002 so that their children, Jordan and Haden, could receive the best education possible. Julie’s grandmother taught at EFISD for a number of years, and her mother and aunt attended K-12 at EFISD. Her daughter and son-in-law have also made the decision to raise their family in this great district as well.
Julie’s daughter, Jordan Hayes, graduated from EF in 2011 as the Valedictorian of her class. She went on to graduate from Texas A&M University and Texas A&M University School of Law and now practices law in Marshall. Her husband, Heath, is a 2008 graduate of EFISD. Heath and Jordan now live in Elysian Fields and look forward to sending their son to school here in a few short years.
After graduating from EF in 2016, Haden graduated from LeTourneau University in Longview with a Civil Engineering degree and is working for an Engineering firm in Georgetown. Haden and his wife, Baleigh, live in Hutto, Texas and she is the Assistant Director and Dance Teacher at Hendrickson High School (Pflugerville ISD).
“I have cared about this school district for many years while my own children attended, and now I am committed to seeing that success and excellence continue for the sake of my grandchildren and every student, teacher, staff member, and administrator who walks through the halls of Elysian Fields ISD. When I decided to run for School Board, I wanted to be part of the continued success of our district. Even though there are good days and bad days, overall, our district is very successful. Education has always been very important to me and my family; we were taught to never stop learning. I believe every child should have the right to learn in a safe and healthy environment like our small school in Elysian Fields. Every child in our district is important. Our board has set goals and priorities to help monitor the success of the students and prepare them the best way possible for the next chapter of their lives. Thank you for allowing me to serve this wonderful district.” – Julie Simmons
