E.F. Elementary Principal Announcement

Elysian Fields Elementary Parents, Students, and Community:
I want to begin by thanking you for your tremendous support and patience over the last few days. Due to the extent of hail damage to the roof of our building during the storm on Friday, April 6th and the heavy rains and wind that occurred this past Saturday evening and early Sunday morning, several sections of our facility were damaged by water. Even though precautions were taken and the process had begun to have repairs made, the additional rain proved to be too much.
A professional clean up company is in the process of making our building a clean, safe environment for staff and students. Once this process is complete, documentation will be available to the public of testing reports and procedures completed to assure our building is safe for return.
In the meantime, we have devised a plan to have our students back in school. This plan will require flexibility and patience on the part of our entire school community, students, and parents. I am certain there will be issues to address and changes to make as we go. I ask that you please trust we have the best interest of each and everyone of our students as our first priority. Please see the attached document for the plan to reopen school for our elementary students on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
Again, I want to thank all of you, our incredible Elysian Fields ISD family, our superintendent, and our school board for the tremendous show of support and love. What a beautiful community in which to raise our children.
