Elysian Fields Athletics will compete in a new classification next season as a result of the biennial realignment of the University Interscholastic League released Thursday morning.
The Jackets dropped from Class 3A to Class 2A Division I in the latest realignment, and will compete in District 10 of Region 3 with Beckville, Big Sandy, Union Grove, Harleton, Hawkins, Ore City and Waskom in football.
In boys and girls basketball, EF will compete in District 23-2A with Beckville, Garrison, Gary, Joaquin, Tenaha, Timpson, and Waskom.
Lady Jacket Volleyball will now compete in District 20-2A with Beckville, Garrison, Gary, Timpson, and Waskom.
The remaining district alignments for other EFISD Athletics programs will be released no later than April.
The new realignment will be in effect during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years.
